Course Description
Understanding
Cardiac Medications Fast Track serves as a “Refresher” Guide to Gaining Confidence
in Understanding Cardiac Medications and How they Work. The four main functions of the heart
and classifications of heart malfunctions are discussed. Indications, side effects, cardiac
arrhythmias and contraindications associated with administration of cardiac medications is
presented in this course. This module is not intended to be used as a pharmaceutical reference,
but as a guide to better understand how cardiac medications work with the heart.
This course has the goal of facilitating knowledge and confidence in the care of the cardiac
patient. Understanding Cardiac Medications Fast Track is also a great refresher course for
nurses currently practicing in the field of Cardiology.
Target Audience
The learner
should currently be working in the cardiac arena with experience in dispensing cardiac medications.
This module can also be used as a refresher course for nurses with experience in the cardiac
arena.
