Course Description
This module
is designed to help the health care provider understand cardiac medications, and how they
work in a ‘nutshell’. This module is not intended to be used as a pharmaceutical
reference, but as a guide to understanding how cardiac medications work with the heart in
very simple terms. This module has been developed in an easy to understand format to remove
the intimidation from cardiac medications, and to broaden your assessment capabilities.
This course has the goal of facilitating knowledge and confidence in the care of the cardiac
patient. Understanding Cardiac Medications is also used as a great orientation tool for nurses
wishing to pursue a career in the field of Cardiology.
Target Audience
The learner
may be about to begin a new position in a cardiac unit or they may wish to expand their current
knowledge base in cardiac medications. This module can also be used as an orientation tool
for nurses new to the cardiac arena.
