  Curriculum
Curriculum is a way to group courses with certain requirements by date logic. this functionality works just for online courses. A learner assigned to a curriculum must finish it by the specific date. There are two types of Curriculum schedules:
One time assignment: the learner is assigned to a curriculum one time an must complete it within the specified time-frame.
Recurring assignments: Similar to a one-time assignment, but the Curriculum is renewed at specified intervals. For example, a Curriculum could be set-up to required learners to complete it twice a year (e.g. certifications in the health care industry varies every year)
 

Learning Paths
Learning Paths (LP) describe activities an individual may undertake to improve his/her skills. LPs are 'mapped' to, or associated with, one or many Skills so that if a deficit-gap in a Skill exists, its associated LPs offer learning solutions for that gap.
We encouraged our clients to be very creative in defining Learning Paths... after all; the intent is to put power into the hands of the population for them to manage their own growth.

  Department Grouping
Departments is a grouping element within LearningServer LMS.  Each user profile contains a field for their Department.  Users can be assigned to courses, events, curriculums, and learning paths based on this designation.  For example, a set of courses could be assigned to users of the “Sales” Department, whereas another set of courses could be assigned to “Support”.
 

Job Title Grouping
Job Title Grouping is a grouping element within LearningServer LMS.  Each user profile contains a field for their Job Title.  Users can be assigned to courses, events, curriculums, and learning paths based on this designation.  When a learner is registered with a particular Job Title, they are automatically enrolled in mandatory courses that are associated with their title.  For example, a set of events could be assigned to users with a “Sales Manager” Job Title, whereas another set of events could be assigned to “System Administrator”.

  User Categories
Grouping mechanism for reports.
  User External Courses
Track a user’s training activities that occurred in 3rd party applications, other training venues.  All information is maintained within the user’s learning transcript for easy reporting capability.
